Lenovo Smart Clock Essential doesn't turn off the light

Hi, can someone help? My Lenovo Smart Clock Essential doesn't turn off the light.

What can I do? It doesn't answer to my instruction to turn off and it doesn't have any button that allows to do it. 

Any contribution is welcome.

Were you referring to the night light? Were you able to turn it off before? 

The nightlight function provides a light source for convenience in dark areas.
To enable/disable the nightlight:
— Use a voice command.
— Press and hold the volume down button.
To adjust the brightness of the nightlight, use a voice command.

I have used the voice command and my light will not go off. I will try the volume command to see if that works but using voice command I can hear her turning it off but it does not go off. Is there another way to turn the light off?

This is infurating.  My clock started doing the exact same thing about 4 days ago so I have to unplug the thing at night so I can sleep.  No matter how loud you yell or beg it simply will not turn off.  You can have it set to 1%, 100% or anything between, but it just won't set it to zero.  You can't say turn off night light or turn of light or anything.  It just won't  work.

If the voice command and volume button methods are not working, it might be a software issue. I would recommend resetting your device to factory settings. This will erase all data and bring the device back to its original state.

To do this, follow these steps: 1. Press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. 2. When you see the Google logo, release the buttons. 3. You'll see an Android mascot and an exclamation mark. Press and hold the volume up button, then press and release the volume down button. 4. Use the volume buttons to scroll to "Wipe data/factory reset", then press the volume down button to select it. 5. Scroll down to "Yes", then press the volume down button to select it.

I've got the same issue, seems like a recent software updated caused this. Can confirm that holding down the "volume down" button does the trick. Factory reset (holding down the "volume down" and "clock" buttons) doesn't resolve the issue, once you turn the nightlight on... you cannot turn it off with voice commands.

Same issue here, voice command no longer turns off the light. Was working fine for years, then suddenly in December 2023 stopped. Factory resetting does not fix. Lenovo staff, please report this bug to your technical team!

Thank you for the workaround to hold down the "–" (volume down) button to turn it off, I've finally turned the light off after a month!

How did this make it through testing and not get flagged?

How did this make it into production and not get found during validation?

How did this not get reverted after failing validation?

 

If I was a a Lenovo shareholder I would be running for the **bleep** hills.  This is a critical issue affecting 100% of users of the product and its been live in production for a month!

 

Lenovo does not have an IT department!  There is nobody there, its an empty building!  The alarms should be blaring at corporate!
