Re: Feature Requests

I have to say that the new larger "sleep" clock is great, no problem to read it in the middle of the night. But it's too bright white! Can an option be added to give the screen a dusky orange cast between sunset and sunrise, as our phones can do?

Is there any chance of choosing between large and small clock in future.

I find the display too bright now with the clock.

Is there any way I can role back the software, as for me the display's main purpose for me is a bedside clock.

Night Mode

As a bedside clock the display has too many brightness issues,  and even with the 4.1 update it is still largely unusable.at night.  So may I please request:

Must Haves:

1. Dedicated 'bedside' mode that

2. Enforces minimum brightness for ALL screens

3. Further reduces backlight beyond current zero level (still too bight at night)

4. Responds to commands whilst maintaining a dark screen (or off?)

5. Option to switch off voice responses (wakes partner)

6. Set by schedule (my preference) or command

7. Greatly improved volume control at low levels (I have to use home app to set at 0.5 at night)

Plus some 'Nice to haves':

8. Add play xxx music for xxx minutes with a fade to silence

9. Mimic the Phillips wake up lights that gently come on at a set time.

The display has a bright future bedside if you can make it darker...

Thanks, Andrew

Urgent bug fix request: low level volume control

Currently even volume level 1 is too loud in a quiet setting and I have to manually set at 0.6 in the home app .

Please recalibrate to a more usable output.

Thanks, Andrew

Dear Sir/Madam

Your phone so good I have no complaint with this but for your information. The others brand are giving the facility of recording in phone itself.you are requested to please give the recording phone calls.

Regards SHAHID

Having purchased a couple of th 10in Smart Displays.  It would be nice to have a video intercom feature.  New command Intercom "Name of Display" would send a notice to the display in question and on the acceptance would give both video and voice communication to both systems so they could interact. Now if you have kids in the basement and you want to send a quick message and have your video and voice transmitted without required feed back another command DNotification "Supper is ready"  as an example would be sent with video and voice.  It would reset after set time or by the user on the other displays.

Agree - I'd love intercom for all Google home devices, not just the smart display.

Some of what you mention can be done via the broadcast feature.  But broadcast is  too clunky if you want any real back and forth .  Broadcast replies are apparently coming soon, will need to see how that plays out.

This is supposed to be available through the broadcast feature, but reddit is full of others who can't get it to work (on any platform).

Broadcast works as intended in my home (Lenovo smart display, 4 other Google homes).  Can also broadcast from my phone (when out of home) to the home devices.  No issues at all for me.

But replies would be nice, and that's coming soon .

Totally understand!  Having a hidden intercom button that becomes available any time multiple displays are monitored on the Local Network would be benefical and the hidden button would only come up when swipping up on the screen as you would for settings.  It can be placed by the settings button and be colored diffrently then the other buttons that are available.  The recieving monitors could have in the upper right corner of the sreen a popup notification button as an example. To allow or disallow intercom feature or activity.
