[Smart Clock] Can't shuffle a playlist as the alarm

I just got my Smart Clock and I almost love it, but when I set a music alarm, it won't shuffle the playlist.

 

E.g. I set the alarm like this:

 

"Set music alarm for 7am"

 ... then it asks what to play ...

"shuffle playlist <whatever>"

 

It sets the alarm and plays the playlist, but without shuffling. I've tried a half dozen alternate phrasings, nothing makes a difference.

 

Shuffle is very important for a music alarm. I don't want to wake up to the same song every day!

Welcome to the Community,

 

I will need to verify with Google but after testing across Google Home Hub, Smart Display & Smart Clock this does not seem to be a feature that is enabled.

Just to confirm, did you see this feature advertised as working anywhere?

 

Did it work at some point and then stopped working?

No, I didn't have it working before; I just got my Smart Clock. It seems like a big problem for an alarm clock though. Maybe Lenovo can ask google to fix it? I don't think google pays attention to bug reports from ordinary users.

Thanks for the confirmation, I have already raised the issue with Google and we are looking into this particular use scenario.

 

I am on it so once I got more information I'll get back to you.
