Android 9 Gestures on Tablet P10 - can I turn this 'feature' off?

2019-08-25, 9:11 AM

My wife is disabled and relies on her tablet to keep in touch with the outside world. It 'upgraded' to Android 9 last night. She is unable to manage the new 'gestures' - her hand control is such that she keeps starting the Google Assistant when she tries to stroke the 'pill' upwards, and she cannot slide it sideways either. I can find no way to turn Gestures off - other manufacturers seem to offer this possibility, but there seems to be no option to turn it off in 'Settings' on this tablet. For the moment, the tablet is useless. Can anyone suggest a solution? I am not confident that I could manage a reinstallation of Android 8 Oreo. I believe that doing a factory re-set would not help.

Hi I have the Tablet M10 also running Pie and for me I can change the navigation bar (what your talking about), go to Settings->Display->Navigation Bar Mode and change it to what you want. You should also have the setting since both tablets are very similar.

This helped me too
