Smart Tab Dock Firmware Issue

2019-09-18, 16:02 PM

The dock firmware update for July 25th has an issue or my Tablet has an issue. This is brand new straight out of the box tablet.

I update the dock firmware to the July 25th release. When the Tablet is docked I get an annoying prompt every 15 seconds or so "Connecting Bluetooth - Please keep your tablet docked."

It goes away after 5 seconds and returns. IT DOESN"T STOP!!

This didn't happen prior to the update.

Re: Smart Tab Dock Firmware Issue

I've had an M10 with dock since Black Friday. Updated to Android 9 and had the same "Connecting Bluetooth" problems everyone is reporting. I've been looking for a solution and found something that is working for me. I changed the Bluetooth AVRCP version from 1.4 (default) to 1.5, shut down my M10 and restarted and my connection has remained stable.

I had to enable Developer Options to get at the Bluetooth AVRCP settings. Go to Settings, System and tap About tablet about 7 times.

Fingers crossed it works for others.

Re: "Bluetooth AVRCP version from 1.4 (default) to 1.5,".   My P10 and dock were really problematic, I enabled developer mode, made the change to 1.5 (1.6 was also an option, but went with the suggested 1.5).   All has been well since.   Lenovo should send out a patch that is applied automatically to users tablets which makes the change wihout requireing develper mode and manually changing the settings.

Other than that this is a good  working tablet.  Ergoniically the smooth glass back makes it almost impossible to hold on to however.

I tried that and it made no difference. However today I followed some elses tip of launching Google Play, searching for the  app "Amazon Alexa - Show Mode for Lenovo". I uninstalled it. As soon as it uninstalled it showed an Update available. So I updated, I don't remember if I had to Install it again or if the Update did that but now bluetooth has been working perfectly. It's faster to connect than before, but still sort of slow but I've been able to take the tablet on and off several times and bluetooth reconnects every time.

Re:Smart Tab Dock Firmware Issue

I have had mine since the 12th May, bought Lenova as a previous Lenova laptop (yoga). proved faultless through my daughters 3 years of law at Uni.

Never been so frustrated by a piece of TECH, and I have had some over the years.

Constantly having to manually reconnect bluetooth every time you want to use it. Customers should not have to spend time looking for ways to fix a problem that should have been identified and resolved during test.

I am appalled Lenova (a manufacturer I trusted) have allowed this to fault drag on.

Seriously beginning to regretting not going for the alexa show.

Rant over,      since yesterday mine has stayed connected. I am going to give it 5 days over which I will log disconnects and if it continues to be a nuisance I will return it to supplier as faulty and claim a refund! and never will I buy Lenova again !!!!!

Has the bluetooth issue been resolved?  I'm still have the frequent disconnect from bluetooth issue.  Surely there is a fix by now.

The Lenovo/Moto Rescue and Smart Assistant  will solve the problem  of constant Bluetooth disconnects if you Google for it download  to PC or Laptop plug in your tablet and follow instructions and it will solve your Bluetooth  problem, had my tablet for about 18 months and the Bluetooth  connection  has been a problem  in the past along with many other faults but the Rescue and Smart Assistant  has solved them all it will even bring a dead tablet back to life its a handy little tool to keep on PC for any future problems you incur and going on my experience  with the M10 there will be many.
