2016-11-18, 17:31 PM

I'm trying to help an org determine thier Warranty status of thier Computers, so far, I ahve been about to get APIs for Dell, HP, and HPE. Now I'm looking for an API that I cna use to collect the warrnty details from Lenovo. I already know about the Lenovo warranty website http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/warrantylookup but I'm hoping Lenovo has a real API that I cna script againt. Does such an API exist? How cna I access it?

Did you see this here?

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/General-Discussion/Acess-to-the-support-API/m-p/3831813/highlight/true#M34825

The link to the API is here: http://supportapi.lenovo.com/Documentation/Index.html

The warranty API works for me with no special key.  The problem is I haven't found anyone responsible for this and even though it works, will it work in the future?

Nope, there is no one from Lenovo that hangs out here. So everything is left un-answered.

To access the warranty information do the following, use a Chrome application like Advanced Rest Client to test:

  • URL: https://ibase.lenovo.com/POIRequest.aspx
  • Method: POST
  • ContentType: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
  • Body:
    xml=<wiInputForm source='ibase'><id>LSC3</id><pw>IBA4LSC3</pw><product>{0}</product><serial>{1}</serial><wiOptions><machine/><parts/><service/><upma/><entitle/></wiOptions></wiInputForm>

Replace {0} with the MTM and {1} with the serial number of your machine.

The response is something like this:

Is there any official documentation on this warranty API? It looks great, but I can find nothing official on it from Lenovo. It also would appear that you have a password specified in the XML body that acts as a sort of API key. Typically these should be issued as a unique value for an organization.

Yes there is an warranty API to which customers can request access to and there is also a method to to make batch enquiries.  Any customer requesting more details or access should contact their Lenovo sales representative who will be in a position to put them in touch with the correct Lenovo team.

Try contacting the 'Lenovo Partner Program': http://www.lenovo.com/partners/

If it does not help you let me know, I helped someone in the past on LinkedIn with this. He received access.

Re: Warranty API

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.

I contacted lenovo partners and got a reply an hour after.

I was talking to an lenovo account executive or something like that.

I told her my request and she transfered it to the "relevant" people, but once again, they didn't provide me what i was asking.

they provided me this https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/th/en/warrantylookup/batchquery which is not what i need.

It's like no one is aware of this solution...

Can you help me directly someshow? it would be much appriciated.

Thanks,

Lidor.
