WWAN Driver

2010-07-21, 16:19 PM

In the lenovo downloads for s10-3 I have seen "Lenovomobile Wide Wireless Lan Driver". Does it support Sierra MC8780 and MC8790? I will be receiving either of these two in two weeks time. Anyone with hands-on experience with these cards in S10-3?

You can buy it from ebay-china, singapore, Hong kong, Malaysia etc. You may not find it in ebay-India. But nevermind, the other sites provide worldwide delivery and good prices too.

Re: 3G WWAN Card

I got a dell 5520 EU870D novatel 3g wwan card, installed in my lenovo s10-3  it shows toshiba broadband (3g hspda) sm-bus mini card with the driver provider: novatel wireless inc driver  version: 3.0.0.6.

There is also 3 ports installed in the ports(com & lpt) branch. they are the

toshiba broadband (3g hspda) sm-bus mini card diagnostics port,

toshiba broadband (3g hspda) sm-bus mini card eap-sim port and

toshiba broadband (3g hspda) sm-bus mini card status port

Initially it worked but after some time it couldnt connect anymore. When the query modem button is clicked at the diagnostics tab, it prompts an error saying "the modem failed to respond. make sure it is properly connected and turned on. If it is an internal modem or is connected, verify that the interrupt fo the port is properly set.".  the device status shows that it is working properly.  Can anyone help ?

Hi KK,

Are the Sierra Wireless AirPrime MC8790 and MC8790V compatable with the S10-3 ?

Do the WWAN cards with GPS work when out of mobile coverage area.

Thanks in advance.:smileyhappy:

Suren.
