Re: Battery draining too quickly

Hello Rarehare,

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Try to change the power saving settings, maybe this got changed around somehow.

If not already, try switching to power saver mode and see if that makes any difference.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Battery draining too quickly

Hi

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have just done this  and recharging...but why should it not work as described in blurb when bought.  Having searched forum, battery life seems to be an endemic problem with the brand.  I have HP and Samsung computers and Lenovo is the only one I have problems with.

Re: Battery draining too quickly

Try performing hard reset.

Note: To perform a hard reset, unplug the AC power adapter and remove the battery, and then press and hold down the Power button for about 20 seconds. This will drain any residual charge in the capacitors and reset the power management controls to their default condition.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Battery draining too quickly

In simpler words

Higher performance = more power = less battery life
Low performance = less power = more battery life which is the basic agenda of laptops.

Also,

- One of the battery cells have already reached its life span

- the chip that handles how the battery gets charge/discharge and checks the charge level of each battery cell (both are controlled by a firmware) is malfunctioning.

Re: Battery draining too quickly

Hi

Thank you all for your help...BUT

I have no will to throw good money after bad.   \\this product has been less than useful from the start and has not lived up to expectation even after hardly ever being used.

Never a Lenovo again.
