Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

Good day.
I have a Y560p. I accidentally updated the bios with the update for the y560. When the system rebooted the laptop was dead as a doornail. Will this fix work for me?

Kind regards

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

When I run wincri.exe it said that no removable device was found. Why is this?

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

Try Another USB port, or then try with another pen drive...while creating bootable usb, use a computer that operates in windows XP with SP3.. It had worked earlier for me...Good Luck Bro

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

I was able to create the usb disk but I recieve no response from my laptop when I start up with it. I've tried all the key combos but nothing seems to work!!

Does this mean that my laptop is FBR(f beyond repair)?

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

Hi
What was the key combination you used while trying to recover? Fn+f? And did you try other combinations also?

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

Hei Bro

I don't remember the combination I used, I tried couple of them but...you can consult a local service guy who may be able to help....it may not be FBR ...the last option could be changing the motherboard..Im sorry Im not able to find the previous version of bios, as it is not available in my country yet

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

You might also try asking a local repair shop to reprogram the eeprom chip(bios chip) if the laptop is not under warranty.
Bios recovery may not work in every case, depends how the bios was corrupted. If it's completely dead with no response, there are less chances.

Re: Bios Recovery For ideapad laptops!!

Then, I suppose, you might have to either get your mainboard replaced by lenovo or get the bios chip reprogrammed.
