Bios chip Lenovo s10e

Hi,

Im having a prblem with Lenovo customer services, and thats a reason came here...

I've bought my Lenovo S10e when I was living in London 2 years ago. the garantee expired. Now I live in Dublin/Ireland and a got a problem when unfortunately tried to update the bioschip. I have tried everything, got diagnosed and i realized(Im quite sure) that the problem is Bioschip. I can do that by myself, replace it. What I would like to know is: Where can I get a new bioschip? I only wanna know because ill do that but off course i must have a new bioschip.

Thanks a lot and I hope that ill have an answer.

Have a great time

Canedo

Re: Bios chip Lenovo s10e

if you can access windows, you can restore previous bios backup.
just check your c:\bios folder, rename bios.bak file to bios.wph and re-flash it.

if you mean to buy new mainboard, check ebay.

Re: Bios chip Lenovo s10e

re-installing operation system may help you.
if it doesn't work, you can call lenovo support line. they can assist you to buy mainboard if you need or you can check ebay like i said before.

ps: can you tell me how to upgrade bios? on ubuntu?

Re: Bios chip Lenovo s10e

Hi canedo,
Did you fix the netbook successfully? I have the same problem but with IdeaPad S10-3. After BIOS update failure, now the netbook seems to be dead. Power button does not switch on the netbook. LED indicators light up for few seconds and off every time the battery or adapter are plugged in. I have tried to flash it with phoenix crisis tool several times but did not work.
Do you have any commend?
Hope to get your replies soon.
