Can't change language to English

Hi,

Bought a used U530. It had windows 8 but was downgraded to windows 7. Now it is in Russian and I can't change it to English no matter what I do. I'd like to change it to English any way possible.

Hi nkotselas,
Welcome to Lenovo Community. Smiley Happy
As far as I know, you need Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise in order to change the language from Russian to English.

Re: Can't change language to English

You did not mention exactly which version of Windows 7 you already have. You may have to contact Microsoft to see if an upgrade is still available: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/contact-support
IF still available note that the Anytime Upgrade is unavailable in some editions of Windows 7.
For additional information, see FAQ's here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-anytime-upgrade-faq#1TC=windows-7

As far as Windows 8/8.1 if you completely remove Windows 7, and purchase 8, when you install it, make sure you are installing it in English.

Someone else may come along with a better solution, but that's the route I would take.
