Cannot stop s10e from going into Standby mode

2009-02-08, 3:49 AM

I have looked in every nook and cranny in XP and I have set all of the usual display/graphiccard/power/hybernation settings to stop the Lenovo from going into Stand-by mode.  I am sure I have missed on, but I'll be darned if I can find it.

This laptop never runs on battery and is always plugged in when turned on.

Is there a setting in cmos that needs to be set?

The only unusual thing about this unit is that it's connected to a Belkin kvm. I would not think that would cause it to enter Stand-by mode.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcomed!

Thanks for the reply.

I just found a power management program written by Lenovo that was causing it.

Thanks!

No sure if you have tried to change the standby/hibernation mode setting to NEVER first to eliminate the problem. If it goes away, then you can adjust the setting to suit your requirement. You can check on my posts on this subject in my Blog to see if it is applicable. Never used a KVM switch before so don't know if that has any effect but logically shouldn't.

Hi together

For the audience. Your hint with the Lenovo power program brought me on the right way even you didn't mention the solution. Under "all programs/Lenovo/Energy Management/Power management options" we have simply to doubleclick the appropriate power scheme to maintain it. The usual XP power management is disabled. :smileyhappy:
