Change Battery

Just bought this nice machine u410 and was wondering what to do the day the battery is loosing its power. Can the built in battery get changed by a technician for a fair price?

Re: Change Battery

hi rimfrozt,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The battery on the U410 can be changed but it requires disassembling the bottom cover (see page 34 of the hardware maintenance manual on how to access the battery).

When the battery gets defective and you're already pass the warranty period , you can either have a local tech. order the battery for you and have it replaced or you can purchased the battery online and just pay for the labor cost in replacing the battery. You will need the part # below to change the battery:

Part #: 121500059 - BTY U410 SMP/ATL L10M4P11 7.4V / 59WH 4CELL

Otherwise, you can send the unit to lenovo for warranty repairs. Support phone list here.

Hope this helps.
