Dolby in u330p?

2014-12-09, 23:01 PM

Hi!

I'm trying to make the Dolby Home Theater v4 work in my laptop, but so far I've had no luck.
I've downloaded the latest driver for my pc from the Lenovo driver section, searched for the Dolby Home Theater installer and installed it. I get the interface but it seems like it ignores all the equalizer changes (the blue GUI doesn't even show movement when music plays as expected)

Do I need to use different drivers or change some other setting of my pc? It's an u330p ideapad.

Thanks in advance.

hi Lunaticjuan,

Can you consider the following:

1. Uninstall the Doly and Realtek Audio Driver from the Control panel (icon views) > Programs and Features. then reboot the machine.

2. Install the Windows 8 driver below (this should install the Audio Driver and Dolby)

Realtek Audio Driver for 64-bit Windows

v6.0.1.6899

In case the Dolby doesn't get reinstalled, navigate to the c:\drivers\Realtek Audio Driver\PCEE4 to reinstall it.

hi Lunaticjuan,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Just to check, if you look into the Driver Tab under the Realtek High Definition properties (Device Manager > Sound, video, and game controllers), does it indicate that you're using v6.0.1.6899 (for Win7/8) or v6.0.1.7032 (for Win8.1) ?

Ideally, the Dolby Home Theater must sync with the Realtek Audio driver for the audio enhancements to work. If the driver tab shows a different audio driver, try to click Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer and check if you have v6.0.1.6899 (for Win7/8) or v6.0.1.7032 (for Win8.1) on the list.

Regards

Thanks for your help, neokenchi.

I've checked and I'm running v 6.0.1.7032. My operating system is Windows 8.1 as well.
Dolby Home Theater remains as unresponsive as ever :/

Did as you told me and it worked as a charm! Is that a common issue with the new drivers?

Thank you very much :)
