I have a Lenovo Idea Pad S10 and I love it. Its a great little machine. I do have a question or two please. Can on put a bigger harddrive in it and how much memory is the max. I currently have 2 GB of memory.
Also, I tried to do my income tax using it---I use Taxcut and tried to install it on and the machine said that it couldn't do Taxcut. I am assuming that the system is not big enough to handle it. If true that I fine as I have a desktop, but I was just wondering if one can get a bigger hard drive and if that would make a difference.
No complaints at all its a great machine.

I will add more detail to my earlier post after reading the screen resolution posts. That is what the problem was with Taxcut---it told me that it wouldn't work on that resolution. It sounds like there is no solution to that one.

Hi and welcome,
Memory 2GB is the max... 500 GB HDD no problem... and at least

Thank you Kalvin. I will have to look and see what size my HDD is. According to the manual it looks like it is not too hard to change out.
Will that 500 make a difference in performance to make it worth it????

Hi there, performance will not increase appreciable with a bigger HDD ..but huge space for data ...
an SSD instead of HDD will increase performance due faster access , but will increase a black hole in your wallet

Thanks Kalvin. I will just leave well enough alone. It works fine. That is why the Netbooks with the SSD are faster. I have an Asus with the SSD but it has a lot less room than my Lenovo so one just has to understand the difference.

Maximum RAM possible in S10 depends on production date. It can be 2GB in newer S10, but mine S10 was produced in november 2008, and has 512 MB on the mainboard and 512 in the slot. It is possible to change the RAM in the slot to 1GB and have in total 1.5GB. You can check your RAM configuration and maximum RAM possible on the lenovo web page.
