Question

Recently a programm called "NMIndexStoreServ.exe" is sometimes running non-stop, using ~50% of the CPU and keeping the fan going and going. I eventually turned it off using the TaskManager but I´d like to know what this programm is, why it does what it does and if and how I can change things to the way they used to be?

Answer

See HERE for info on "NMIndexStoreSrv.exe" and how to disable.

This file is part of Nero 7 and is located  in the Nero folder. There is a .pf file of the same name in C/Windows/prefatch but since I recently got an external dvd-writer with Nero and keep AntiVir updated that´s ok I guess.  Disabling it resolved the high CPU usage.
