My U410 touch took a bit of a knock recently and now has a damaged hinge that prevents the laptop from closing properly. The screen has also come away from the top casing slightly which, combined with the broken hing has cause the tip of the corner of the screen to snap off.
I took it to Currys PC World the other day and they sent it off to the KnowHow repair centre. I just had a call from them telling me it would cost over £500 to replace. I feel like it must be possible to fix for less than this. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I need to get it fixed asap and if that's not possible then I'll have to buy a new laptop which would not be ideal.
