Hello majorkong,

First off, in the future, please refrain from posting your serial number as that is considered personal information.

If you go to this webpage: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/productConfiguration.page?

Enter in your country where it was purchased and enter your serial number there, it should take you to your system configuration where you can obtain drivers for your computer.

Hope that helps.

majorkong,

You are most welcome.

I apologize for giving you the wrong link. This link will take you to the drivers page for your s10. http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand

You are unable to start-up your OS? Whn you mean trashed, do you mean the Hard Drive Crashed?

majorkong,

Glad I could help you.

I would Contact Lenovo to get a replacement drive if you are still under warranty. If you did not create recovery media for your computer, I would order the Recovery discs from Lenovo.

As for Storage Drives (Assuming you are not under warranty), I recommend a Seagate for an HDD or if you want a SSD (Solid State Drive), go with a Cruzer or Intel.

hey bdesigns

certainly not under warranty are they ever :-)

everything backed up to google drive so all good there :-)

real bummer is that I can't get into the bios despite the fact that ALL passwords are clear on this S10 I get the message

"All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode.
If any items require changes, please consult your system supervisor"

There is no hard drive detected and I'm pretty sure that it's ok.  It's a WD5000bpvt  and "was" working like a champ. Ho hum ce la vie  I long for the days when I used Tandem computers and dos. Life seemed to be so understandable then...

have a great evening
