IdeaPad U300s - wifi issue

Hi there,

We have a new U300s IdeaPad and we're having some problems connecting it to our WiFi.

The Wifi system is a Cisco managed WiFi with several access points scattered about the building. This uses a Layer 3 authentication (no front end WEP etc but requests a username and password via webpage).

Nothing else on our network is having problems connecting to it. Various types of laptop, mobile devices (iPhones, Android, Blackberry) and even Mac's can connect through it properly but when we try to connect the U300s it tells us it is unable to connect. It sees the SSID perfectly well. We even have another WLAN setup using the same access points with a standard Layer 2 (WEP2/PSK) authentication and it won't connect to this either.

Can anyone help with this?

Re: IdeaPad U300s - wifi issue

Wireless connectivity is one of the most important and required feature now.

Kindly uninstall the wireless lan driver from device manager and download it from the lenovo website

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/driversdownloads/APR_Driver_List.aspx?CategoryID=86387&OS=0

Also install the updated BIOS

Kindly check after this it should connect without any issue.

Best Regards,

Tanuj

Re: IdeaPad U300s - wifi issue

Current BIOS is more up to date than the one on the website. There isn't a specific wireless lan driver for this so I used the Intel Wireless LAN and Bluetooth Driver listed.

Uninstalled and reinstalled with this driver and it still isn't working. Any more ideas?

Re: IdeaPad U300s - wifi issue

Kindly check if some other wireless utility or software is installed in your laptop which may cause this issue.

You can share the laptop serial number with me via private message so I can check the exact wireless lan detail.

Best Regards,

Tanuj
