Ideapad S10 - Trackpoint?

Hi,

I have a Thinkpad x30, and die Trackpoint is great! Why is there no S10 or S9 with a Trackpoint? Should be perfect for these Netbooks.

Best Regards,

Stephan

Trackpoint is a Thinkpad only feature. This is one of the element tha distinguish Thinkpad from the rest of the Lenovo products.

But there will be no Thinkpad netbook, right? It would be such a good feature for these small notebooks...

Re: Ideapad S10 - Trackpoint?

Probably a similar Thinkpad product would be considered if the netbook sells itself at a decent volume.

Re: Ideapad S10 - Trackpoint?

My ideas for that:

- 10" Display with LED Backlite, 1024 x 600

-  80GB Harddrive (or SSD > 10GB)

- Trackpoint instead of Touchpad

- Battery > 4h with wlan

- 1GB RAM

- Intel Atom

- DVI or HDMI

- Price ~400 USD

... would be great!

Brilliant strategy.  Make something nobody would want, and if enough people buy it, make something people actually want that nobody else is offering.
I own a netbook, I don't need an ideapad netbook.  I would however, buy one immediately for over $500 if it simply included a trackpoint.
ah well.
