I've had my S10e for a few months now (May '09) and have just noticed that the left shift key is no longer 'rebounding' and is 'mushy'. All the other much more commonly used keys are fine (space bar, enter, home row, etc.) are fine. This netbook has really been used *very* lightly so I'm quite surprised. When I called my local (BC, Canada) warranty service provider they replied that the keyboard was a grey area and that I contact Lenovo first. Does anyone have any experience with getting warranty service on their keyboard? I'm concerned because the service provider mentioned a $100 assessment fee that I will be charged if they determine that the keyboard is not under warranty.

Just wanted to report that this is no longer a problem. Probing around under the keys with an exacto knife and a thin pair of tweezers I found a small piece of plastic that somehow fell underneath. Now, I'll have to get a skin for the keyboard so this doesn't happen again!

wongraph, welcome to the forum,
LOL, that reminds me of a story. A solicitor who once purchased a ThinkPad from me didn't feel the on-site warranty upgrade was necessary.
Cutting a long story short, after loads of threatening phone calls, I agreed to wait an extra half hour after work to exchange his keyboard which I had ordered in advance, his Q didn't work When he arrived I inspected his keyboard and using my dentist's "picking tool" I removed a half a peanut from under his Q key. Needless to say he was somewhat embarassed, thanked me and went.
As a follow up; I sent him an invoice in the post for the 35 Mins time I stayed behind. He paid it and I have never seen or heard from him since.
Lesson learned, don't eat penuts or play with Lego when using your Notebook.
