Ideapad S415 Keyboard and Touchpad Not Working

Hello,

This was originally a thread about a different problem, but now that's fixed, and I'm having this problem.

My laptop's keyboard and touchpad are not registering anything I do. Luckily I can plug in a USB mouse and keyboard for the time being, but I would very much like to get this fixed.

I tried taking out the battery and AC adapter, and holding down the power button for 30 seconds, and that didn't seem to help. I also checked to see if the drivers were up to date, and they are.

If anyone knows anything I can do, please elet me know.

Thank you

Re: Ideapad S415 Keyboard and Touchpad Not Working

hi ewinnub,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Try Accessing the Ease of access by going through

Control Panel, clicking Ease of Access, clicking Ease of Access Center, and then clicking Make the keyboard easier to use.

Uncheck everything and Save it.

Restart the Pc and check the keyboard and touchpad

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Re: Ideapad S415 Keyboard and Touchpad Not Working

Hi, sorry for getting back to you late.

This solution may have helped if I had gotten a chance to try it. However, the laptop in question got worse before I could try, and I had to ship it off to the fine folks at Lenovo. It's under warranty, so it's not a big deal, but I was just trying to see if I could fix it myself. Thanks for the suggestion.
