I have Lenovo Ideapad S510p laptop with Windows 7 (64bit). I am having an issue with the laptop that it won't start/boot after it has been shut down. I tried removing the battery and AC adapter and any other connected device, pressing start button for a minute and trying to start/boot the laptop conecting AC adapter (without battery and with battery) many times but still it won't boot. Only the LED on the start button lights when i press the button.I tried using the Reccovery key on the side of laptop too but to no avail, only the LED lights & blank (black) screen. Caps lock & Num lock key lights don't light up.. Please help & suggest soon.
Its urgent. Please.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for Posting!
WIth your laptop showing LED light on power then caps lock light not turnnig no when pressed.
Seems to be a NO POST issue.
Try removing the HDD, Also Remove the ram and use only one RAM module and place it in one port, try it then move to other RAM port.
Let me know your findings

thanks for replying at last.
I have given the laptop to service centre here in india. 3 days ago. The people at centre won't even tell me whats the problem in laptop. i don't want to lose my data. I will backup my data to external HD if possible somehow. Thw service people have been so arrogant telling me to wait for 10 days & saying they won't reply to anything i ask. I have called them 2 times but they won't even tell whats the issue with laptop. This is really ridiculous.
and i have other post as well which no one answered yet. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-U-and-S-Series-Notebooks/Ideapad-S510p-start-up-amp-bluetooth-is...
please help suggest on this one too.
Please reply ASAP.
Thanks in advance

I'm sorry for unearthing this old topic but I'm in the same situation as Sentient.
I tried removing the hdd, switching the ram port (I only have one RAM module on this laptop) but I don't get any results.
I still get a black screen when trying to boot from HDD. Booting from usb isn't successful either, I tried to use Gparted live to wipe the HDD thinking it would solve it but nope.
Thanks in advance for any answers and tips.
PS : I'm using an Ideapad S510p type 20298 running Win8
