Couple months ago I purchased my new laptop, so far it's worked great, just getting use to Windows 8 is a bit tough. I frequently take my laptop to locations that have no power outlets available and so have to rely on the battery, typically I'm working with Video and audio files which put a big drain on the battery. I thought no biggie, I'll go buy a second battery from Batteries Plus, a local battery store, problem is they can't find any information on this laptop or the battery, so I went on the Lenovo website and I also can't find the information on my laptop which is the i3 series Ideapad S510p Touch with the 500gb hdd 6gb ram, Does Lenovo use different numbers for this system? I purchased the laptop from Office Depot and haven't checked with them yet regarding parts specific to this laptop because I think the company that makes this thing should have information about it. Not too encouraging to see the number of support complaints regarding Lenovo computers, but mine is working as expected so far, just need a second or larger battery and then I'll upgrade the memory and be good.
Any one got a link to help? Thanks

I have the same problem. It just open between top and screen. I cannot close the laptop!! Hope someone can tell us where can we purchase this cover.
Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
When you say it "opened between the top and the screen" are you saying that the front frame (bezel) came loose from the lid ? If it is the bezel is held in place by plastic clips. Just lightly go around the bezel frame and press the bezel into the top of the lid. Sometimes you will hear a faint click as the clips lock in place.

It seems clips broke and they no longer hold both parts together. The
hinge of the left side also broke. In Tiger Direct, where I bought it,
they tell me it seems to be a common issue with this model of laptop. I
want to purchase the complete cover so they can install it.
No luck through the Lenovo parts web page. On the other hand I am not sure
what part number it is, so that I could go to other websites to find it. I
have a desktop/laptop since I cannot close it or move it.
Thanks for your reply!!
For the S510p Touch model you would need to order several parts if they are available from Lenovo. If you do not have the Touch model then the part numbers are different than is what is shown below........
LS51P Hinge L+ R TS Lenovo Part #90203871 (Hinges are sold as a pair and not individually)
LS51P LCD Bezel TS Lenovo Part #90203861
LS51P LCD Cover With 0.3M Camera TS Lenovo Part #90203869
LS51P LCD Cover With 1M Camera TS Lenovo Part #90203884
Page #83 of your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual will illustrate the parts as well as provide a parts number listing. Here is a link to that manual..
As for new or used parts, you can search on-line to see what is available using those part numbers. Also check eBay to see what is available in parts or the complete lid assembly.
