Ideapad U310 - Windows 8 startup too slow

I upgraded to windows 8. Installed all the new drivers. Although booting is fast and it comes to the start screen pretty soon, the startup programs take around 3 more minutes to load including wifi and touchpad drivers. This is driving me crazy.  Some one pl help

Thanks

Re: Ideapad U310 - Windows 8 startup too slow

SOLVED!!!

Now it boots in less than 30 secs. I FOUND the problem and FIXED it after half an hour of searching. I realized that as long as I was logging in through a 'Local account' I did not have a slow boot. But when I was logging in through my 'Microsoft account', the start-up took very long. And the reason was that to log into windows through "Microsoft Account you need to be connected to the Internet, where as to log into windows from a "Local Account" does not require Internet connection.

In my case my Internet connection was though a WiFi software (Thinkpad Access Connection) which was not compatible with Windows 8. I had not uninstalled my WiFi access software before installing Windows 8 over my previous windows platform (Windows 7).

You must look for any Startup Service that requires Internet connectivity and which is not compatible with Windows 8. You must either disable it from Startup Services by going into MSCONFIG or uninstall it altogether.

I believe 90% of the problems of Slow Startup/Slow booting is caused by some Startup Service that is incompatible with Windows 8. It must be disabled from Startup through MSCONFIG or uninstalled altogether.
