Ideapad U410 - Very slow startup after shutdown on battery

2014-07-06, 11:16 AM

I have a bit of an odd issue.

I've had my Ideapad U410 since December 2012 and, for the past month or so, every time the device is shut down on battery (whether it's shut down manually using the Power Shut Down or Sleep options or if it happens automatically due to battery settings/low battery) it takes about 15-20 minutes to start up again

The screen will come on but remain black for a good 3-5 minutes, after which the Lenovo logo and loading symbol wil flash, and a good 10-15 minutes later the device will turn on.

- This doesn't happen if I shut it down and start up on the power charger, only when shut down on battery.

- It doesn't matter if I try to start up again on battery or on the charger, what seems to cause this is when it's been shut down on battery.

- The battery itself seems to work perfectly (it will run on battery for hours).

Any ideas on what might be causing this? I haven't been able to find anything similar online.

Any help is very much appreciated :)
