Ideapad s400u memory uprgade

2013-01-22, 14:11 PM

I have just bought the ideapad s400u laptop, this one has 4gb of memory and I think it only has one memory slot,so if I want more memory I should put a 8GB sodimm, is this correct, will a 8GB sodimm at 1333MHZ or 1600MHZ work?

Hi

The maximum memory available for the S400u as per the product support reference is 4GB max7 / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3, non-parity, one 204-pin SO-DIMM socket. Please see link regarding S400 max memory.

Thank you.

I see that, but did someone tested a 8GB memory module if it works?

Chpset support this configuration, this mean it is 8GB RAM works perfectly.

DDR3 1600MHz  also 1333MHz

I have tested Corsair SO-DIMM 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
