Keyboard stopped working again - Ideapad U Touchscreen

2014-06-16, 2:54 AM

My ideadpad keyboard stopped working again using Windows 8.1.  I did a Windows 8.1 reset yesterday and it seemed to be working but today it stopped working again.  It works at the login screen but some software is preventing it maybe the free Comodo firewall or Avast 8.  I can't uninstall Avast or Comodo in safe mode because it is says to uninstall in normal mode but I can't type in the Start screen to bring up control panel.

Whenever I log out it gets stuck on the Lenovo Energy Manager.  Should I keep this program or can I uninstall it?

Try downloading and installing CCleaner. Run it and use the tools/uninstall to uninstall those programs.

It seems to be a problem with the free Comodo firewall which was blocking the Syaptics touchpad.  After uninstalling its working great.  I usually didn't have a problem with Comodo because its worked great.

Earlier you stated " I can't uninstall Avast or Comodo in safe mode because it is says to uninstall in normal mode but I can't type in the Start screen to bring up control panel." And I suggested to use CCleaner.

So how did you uninstall those programs?

Well after logging in I probably had about 30 second - 2 minute window to get to Programs & Features using the search at the Windows Start Screen and I was able to uninstall Comodo that way instead of using CCleaner.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Using Search requires you to type with the Keyboard, right?
