Lenovo Ideapad S400T with a noisy fan

I purchased an Ideapad S400T (Touch) less than 3 weeks ago, and when I put the laptop on last night, the fan suddenly went noisy. My co-worker who's about 4 meters away from my table can even hear it, and it's annoying. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Lenovo Ideapad S400T with a noisy fan

hi JTamayao,

Welcome to the Forums.

Regarding the fan being noisy, are you hearing:
1. A wind noise? - If it is, this is normal as faster fan speed causes wind noise on the vents (this usually happens if you're getting unusual heat and the fan spins at a faster RPM to eliminate it).

2. A grinding / rattling noise? - this indicates that the fan is struggling - (it's possible that the fan is dirty or is defective and needs to be replaced). You may need to contact lenovo for service.

Hope this helps
