The Lenovo S41 I've had for a little under two years started running incredibly slow one day out of the blue. I checked the CPU through task manager and after the initial login, the CPU never runs above 20% utilization at 0.48 GHz. I've run the Lenovo Solutions Center but haven't found anything wrong. Reseting my OS and updating the BIOS has not fixed the issue. A few days before it started running this slow, I noticed that I heard small clicking noises coming that I had never heard before. Is it possible that my CPU fan has stopped working and therefore my CPU doesn't run above 20% to not risk overheatting? The Lenovo Solutions Center did not mention any diagnostics regarding the fan, and the online diagnostics on the fan through the Service Bridge said ModuleNotSupported. I ran the OneKey Optimizer Dust Remover for the first time and heard nothing whirring up and no dust coming out. How can I find out if this is the issue, and if not, any ideas on what it could be?

Hi aryali97 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
As the diagnostics may have not picked indicators for possible hardware failures, you may need to open it up to inspect the source of the audible clicks. Emerging issue usually reveals as slow performance and noises at first before it progress , so having backed up your files would be advantageous.
You can download the hardware manual for the disassembly guide if needed from the support site using your serial number or better yet have it checked by your IT department or local service center specially if there are palpable hot spots and warm air from the vents that was not usually so.
Hope this helps answer your query and guide you how to proceed next.
