Re: Lenovo U330p ideapad not turning on

Hi aprilrosebramos  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If the Power indicator goes amber blinking ,  it does suggest that it may be at sleep state itself (page 29, status indicators) .

Try to unplug the charger and remove the battery . Press and hold down the power button for 12 seconds and release , press it again for another 12 seconds to to power drain.

Place back the adapter only and turn on.

You can also perform power checkout (page 21) to isolate probable power related issue but if you need to work on your thesis right away . You can take out the harddrive and place it on a harddrive enclosure to back up on another computer .

Update us how things go.

Regards

Thanks for the immediate response. I read those solutions but as I said my laptop is U330p Ideapad, its battery is not easily detachable. I have to open up the whole case.

Re: Lenovo U330p ideapad not turning on

Hi aprilrosebramos

As the battery is internal and is considered a Field Replaceable Unit , warranty would direct you to get the technical support mediation regarding this as this would require specific tools and experience in doing.

Allowing the battery to drain normally would take time.

Update us how things would work best for you.

Regards

Re: Lenovo U330p ideapad not turning on

Hi aprilrosebramos ,

The laptop would still power on without the battery.

Try to review the power checkout page 21 . The steps indicate to check power functionality without the battery :

To verify a symptom, follow the steps below:

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Remove the battery pack.

3. Connect the AC adapter.

4. Make sure that power is supplied when you turn on the computer.

If you don't have the tools or not confident on opening it , just contact technical support or visit your local service center /IT personnel to do it for you.

Regards
