Re: Lenovo U410 Touchpad

2012-11-04, 15:20 PM

Same problem on my U410.

I randomly encounter some problem with my trackpad but only when the notebook is plugged. As long as I am on battery, I have no problem.

And I also have the known problem of weak wifi because my laptop was built before 23rd July!!!

I'm contacting the support tomorrow to get my PC repaired.

I hope this won't take a month!

Re: Lenovo U410 Touchpad

I've just taken my U410 out of the box, and I have this issue of "stuttering" and generally rubbish sensitivity trackpad when on charge. Unplugged the issue goes away. I've tried this with windows8 which came on it, and running it with an Ubuntu Live Disk, to check it wasn't a driver issue.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this, or should I think about sending it straight back to them?

U410 Windows 8 Touchpad problems

2012-11-28, 17:29 PM

I just bought my u410 ultrabook last week and I have been having issues with my touchpad.

Upon starting the computer, everything goes well, two finger scrolling is working fine. After a few minutes of use, or opening up a program or two, the 2 finger scrolling is completely disabled, and the only way to get it back is to restart the computer.

I have reinstalled drivers multiple times, but the same problem is occurring.

The 2 finger scroll feature, and swiping in from the sides of the touchpad are central to the use of windows 8. Having these function incorrectly is very frustrating and has greatly affected my experience with the computer.

I just received my U410 as well and am having the same issue.  Also tried a variety of drivers with no resolution.

Has anyone resolved this issue?  Help!

Just got my U410 as well - same touchpad issue. I updated the driver to the 16.2.10.15 version and still have the same problem. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Problems with touchpad on U410

2012-12-01, 15:47 PM

Hi Lenovo Community

I have just bought a new lenovo u410 laptop a few days ago, but I'm already expiring problems with the touchpad.

After a short use after startup the advanced functions stop working (like scroll). After that I can only left and right click with the touchpad. I have tried to delete and reinstall the synaptics driver, but that have not helped. When I restart the computer the touchpad works again... But then after a short period of time the same thing happens.

I hope someone can help me!

Thanks, Dan.

IdeaPad u410 touchpad issue

2012-12-06, 19:06 PM

The multi-touch gestures functionality on my touchpad keeps crashing at random times. The computer is an IdeaPad u410 with the Windows 8 64-bit operating system. I figured out that I can SynTPEnh.exe to fix the issue until the next crash, but it's a suboptimal solution at best. I saw conversations in the forum about similar issues afflicting the Yoga 13, and a Lenovo staff member mentioned that there should be a new Synaptics driver issued to fix the problem. Will there be a new Synaptics driver for the IdeaPad u410 model, as well? Could somebody from Lenovo please comment? Thanks!

Re: IdeaPad u410 touchpad issue

2012-12-07, 18:14 PM

I've had the same problem. My u410 is eight days old. After two days of use, the touchpad enhancements stopped working.

A fix figured out by another forum member has worked for me so far, though I had also tried other drivers that worked for a couple of days and then stopped again. It has been two days since I followed this advice, and so far all is well:

-------------------------------------------------------

The problems seem to be related to OFFICE 2010.

Strange as it is, i've intalled the most recent synpatic drivers from another Lenovo laptop :

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/0ttp16ww.exe

At first, intalling this didn't work. But, it's because you have to be carefull : first you need to uninstall Synaptics Drivers. Second, you need to change the name of the old synaptic drivers (C:\Drivers\Synaptic TouchPad Drive to Synaptic TouchPad Driver_old) to make sure when you install the new one it's dosen't interfere.
