I recently 100% successfully upgraded my Lenovo U430 touch to full AC style 5GHz networking.
I wrote it up here. Now at last my Wifi is really rather fast.
It's working flawlessly under 64 bit Windows 8.1 and Centos 7.0 (on the same laptop)

Dear Marcus and Agata,
I followed your instructions with this card from Amazon.com: http://tinyurl.com/lqg23t5. Alas, I got the dreadful "unauthorized network card is plugged in" message in return. Unfortunately, I have literally no clue about network cards, so I wanted to ask you if you could had a "for dummies" solution. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for fast reply.
How about your bios version?
I could check tomorrow my own situation with current bios version.
I believe I don't even have to check if I can access to Wifi -card because I have already checked
manual so it should be OK.
edit. I noticed also that card with FRU P/N 04W3814 worked for someone?
edit2. When have you purchased yout U430s? I bought mine last year on January 2014 .
edit3. In your blog post you mention seller cityeliter, but in confirmation picture there's ovolink?
Which one is correct?

Hello there back.
So first I am surprised (only joking!) that you did not google search our blog for lenovo
Anyway, the review of the original laptop is here
And it is still the rev 3.7 level of the BIOS (I could find any other numbers anywhere)
Also I updated the main link
to show the current BIOS screen.
Thanks for the comment, it has improved my documentation
