Lenovo U430 bottom row keys not working

I had to replace a defective HD and once I installed windows 10 and all the keys except some of the bottom row don't work. 

 

made sure the bios was updated, the kb drivers were up to date. 

 

Any ideas??

Hi rollyp66 , 

 

Welcome to the Community Forums. 

 

You can try checking it using a different OS or live media to check is same keys are failing. 

Connect it with an external USB keyboard and see if those are working . 

 

It maybe that during opening the cover, that the keyboard connection was moved so that you can try to reset those cables too making sure that contacts are good. 

Herewith is the hardware manual as a guide.

 

Update us how it goes.

Yeah some of the bottom keys still don't work, should I replace the keyboard?

Hi rollyp66 ,

 

Greetings. 

 

If same issue on a different live boot media and external usb keyboard works even after reseating keyboard cable , then you may proceed with the replacement . This usually goes with the upper case so you may need to check the part number from the parts look up page.
