Betreff: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

2012-07-23, 10:03 AM

You can't expect somebody, who buys a laptop being a IT specialist.

Because this issue not being solved in this period of time, I am willing to contact our consumer protection in Germany right now.

Either way I am going to take my money back, when my Notebook arrives from being send in to the service staff of Lenovo.

I think it's very poor, that even Lenovo staff does not get informed about these problems properly.

I know my rights.

And reading through all of the desperate responses on this topic, I am kind of hoping, that this problem is earning some attention and awareness in public.

Best regards

Betreff: My new u310 gives really low speeds on wifi

Hi All,

just my two cents...

I would happily spend up to 5 Bucks and temporarily use a mini usb wifi adapter to spare me the frustration

caused by malfunctioning build-in wifi.

Re: Lenovo U310 Extremely Slow Internet Problem

2012-07-23, 15:04 PM

I purchased this machine on Saturday 7/21. My connection problems started immediately.

Wireless signal drops constantly for no reason if I'm more than 5 feet from my router. Other wireless devices in the house work flawlessly.

I ran two speed test to confirm the problem:

First test with the laptop directly next to the wireless router -  Ping = 8 ms, Download = 18.17 Mbps & Upload = 4.21 mbps.

Second test roughly 15 feet from wireless router - Ping = 42 ms, Download - .55 Mbps, & Upload = 2.90 Mbps.

I don't think I've even seen a device with a higher upload speed?

I contacted Lenovo tech support this morning. The rep I spoke with would not acknowledge or discuss the problem. She remote viewed my system, checked my wireless settings, and offered no solution of any kind. I mentioned the Lenovo message boards stating it was a know issue. She said she could not comment on the problem.

At this point, I see no other option but to return the machine and try something from another manufacturer. I've had 2-3 other Lenovo products in the past and I was quite pleased with their overall performance. I really wish there was a solution to this problem as I very much like the U310 but I need it to function as intended.

Wireless mode set to 802.11b/g as default. Didn't see anything as auto, OKR dude.

Please give us something more helpful.

seemly the minu-usb adapter is the best solution, right now.

Re: Lenovo U310 Extremely Slow Internet Problem

Alot of U310/U410 owners have already complained about the bad wifi connection with these models. Thread can be found here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-and-Z-series/My-new-u310-gives-really-low-speeds-on-wifi/td-p/790527

No need to do as OKR-MAN suggests, wipeing/resetting system will not solve the problem.

Hope to see a fix from lenovo soon.
