I actually got fed up with it and completely returned it. They were very nice about it and didn't charge repackaging and I just brought back to UPS store and received all my money back. I did however have a problem with a new thinkpad i received 2 days later. I had similar problem and did a reset of my router and it worked. I would try resetting router and setting up new SSID.

Hello Mark,

Despite the problem being discussed in this forum, I have decided to place an order for a u410 laptop based on my positive past experience with lenovo products.

I am writing to know if a laptop purchased this morning will be manufactured after my order (i.e. after the July 23 date you mentioned in your post) or if there is a possibility the laptop will be taken from a warehouse and risks being a pre July 23 computer.

Hi Mark,

              I bought my U310 from United States. I'm currently in India and the machine was bought before july 23rd. I guess the service will take around 45 days. But, I will be going to UK for my studies next month and so 45 days is too long for me. Will i get the service from UK??? I have heard Lenovo machines have international warranty. Please reply ASAP

All orders placed through Lenovo direct sales will be fulfilled from current production systems (new build after 7/23) because the orders go directly to the factory.  Hope that helps.

As noted there can be multiple potential causes for wireless performance issues - drivers, router compatibility / settings, power management settings, etc.  It certainly makes sense to try to resolve through conventional means first, but if you have slow wifi performance compared to other devices that you have, and are using at the exact same location, and if your performance improves dramatically when you move to very close proximity to the router, then I would suggest you contact service - the update we have now should resolve.

I have still problems with my wifi after the driver update for the u410. After windows starts up, I have to wait 4 minutes before i get a good connection. Before that i have restricted permission, whitch means wifi does not work anyway, my home doesnt work then to.

being in Germany I don't have any personal experience with service in the UK, but when my father had a problem with his ThinkPad L520 it took a week including shipping to Lenovo and back to him, sorry I can't offer more.
