Any recs on what to get instead of u310?  I ordered 1 from the Microsoft online store which had the wifi problem. Then I had a extremely helpful MS support rep contact the warehouse(s) to see if they can pick from manufacturs date. All of thier stock was pre 7/23/12 so no go on a good replacement.

 

Q1- what is the probability that all U310 or u410s  <7/23 have this problem? 

 

Q2- I really loved this machine and wanted to keep it but there's no way I can live with the wifi issues, nor can I be without a laptop for 2-4 weeks if I send it in.  Any close alternatives?

Thank you for your review and letting us know that the new ones working fine.

 

Just a small confirmation - you  said you have plugged a USB device in USB 3.0 port - could you please confirm it is a USB 3.0 HDD as the problem occurs only when USB 3.0 HDD plugged into the USB 3.0 port.

Other devices work fine.

Poland here.

Bought U310 at beggining of July. WiFi had terrible range, speed and stability.

Called Lenovo Support Center in Poland last week. They told that they knew problem.

Sent them notebook. 2 days after they call asking whats problem with it because they dont know what to fix.

Told them, asked if they want link to this topic. "No thanks".


Waiting now for more info.

What is your price range? I imagine you're looking for an Ultrabook?

under  $900  looking for something light, fast, =>i5, and no HP or Dell.

@All who have WLAN issues on the U310 and U410 models do Lenovo support to schedule service. See Mark's post below.

Hi all,

 

thanks for posting your concern. I understand the frustration and I hope to get this solved as soon as possible. Base from what has been posted here it appears that some are still confused over the resolution. In order to solve the WiFi Issue that you are facing you will have to send it in to service in order for them to get this solved for you. 

 

While reading further into the thread It does appear that some have already contacted the support team . I really do apologize should you feel that the support have not been as responsive and based on what have been communicated to us support teams have already been informed and updated of the issue. In light of this to those of you that have contacted support and have been issued a case number could you please PM me the case number along with your name and contact . I'd like to get this expedited for you and in order for to do it the details I mentioned will be required.

 

Again I do apologize for all that has occurred and we hope to get this sorted out for all as soon as possible for a smoother process.

I just got off support with lenovo Germany, they were not aware of the problem but told me to send it in and they'd have a look at it! Cross your fingers....
