I bought this last November for my daughter for college no problems until recently now the small pin size light on the side comes on but the screen remains black..can anyone offer a suggestion. lenovo warranty page says it's out of date but I didn't buy it until 27th Nov so don't know why the warranty has expired? can't speak to anyone I'm not great with computers can anyone help

Sorry to hear of the issue you are having. Just to rule out a possible conflict please try doing the following reset.....
1. Shut down Windows and unplug the charger / adapter.
2. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds.
3. Plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.
Regarding the warranty issue. With retail sales Lenovo starts the warranty on the day the retail store purchased their shipment of computers. Lenovo will then add an additional month to the warranty to compensate for the time the computer may have sat in a warehouse or on the store's shelf before being sold. In your situation the computer sat longer than expected. Not a problem. You can contact Lenovo at the website below and they will update your warranty information to the correct day you purchased it. You will have to send them a scan of your purchase receipt / invoice for proof of purchase date. In the link just choose your Region and select Purchase Date Update as the Request and then fill in the remaining information along with a brief explanation of the warranty date problem in the Description.
