The device has 4GB soldered on the motherboard, but there is a SoDIMM slot you can access and add a 8GB or 16GB module. Officially the RAM tops out at 12GB, so you'll have the 4GB on the motherboard and add a 8GB stick. However at least one user on LTT forums added a 16GB stick totaling at 20GB RAM. Please note that Dual Channel won't work perfectly after such upgrade resulting in slower RAM speed (only the first 8GB of RAM will work in DC due to Flexmode). In order to access the SoDIMM slot to add RAM you'll have to take off the bottom of the device that is secured by 10 tiny torx screws, and carefully peel it off (help with a guiter pick or a creditcard, but nothing made of metal!). When opened you'll find a metal shield in the center, you can pop it off from one corner. Once again: don't use any metal tools while working on the insides of the machine (or unplug the battery and wait a bit). Once opened you'll also find a 3rd M.2 2242 slot on the far right, you can use this to add a second SSD to the machine (or any 2242 sized M.2 card really), it supports both SATA and NVME drives.
