Restore to Factory Default and/or Reformat

2011-11-23, 17:16 PM

Is it possible to restore an S10 netbook to factory default after a year? I didn't make a backup copy when first purchased and would like to restore it to the factory defaults now. Also is it possible to reformat the S10 drive? I've heard that you cannot defrag it, but would like to know if that is true and if so if it also applies to reformatting.

if your system has preloaded os and okr ( one key recover button )still works, you can do it.
just shut down your computer, start it by pressing okr button and follow the instructions.

do not forget to backup datas on volume c by the way.

Thank you for your reply! I did use the working OKR button from an "off" position and it didn't seem to set to original defaults. There were still documents and files remaining that would NOT have been on the system when new. Perhaps what I want to do is not possible; I thought if I could remove all files, programs and documents and effect a system restore to the original default that it would be like a new machine. I do not need to save any data, but rather would like to remove ALL data.  Is that possible or is that an unachievable expectation?

Any idea where I could find an answer the drive format issue?

okr completed successfully?
you can format the hard drive but if you make changes on volumes, okr will stop working.

Where on the Lenovo website does it explain reformat or formatting the hard drive?
