Hi, I had not read the information on the bios. Installed. Now I have no working laptop. Why is this bios is possible to download if you damage the laptop. What do I do now?

its outrageous that this file is still available for download! It happened to me yesterday. if anybody's come up with a fix then please let me know.

This file needs to be pulled from the site asap. I cant believe its still up there! **bleep**??

Exactly the same issue is here tonight.

 

My S10-3s IdeaPad won't start after 'successfull' reflashing BIOS to LM30_0128 with auto.bat command and self rebooting.

 

Seems that old BIOS problems with Lenovo IdeaPada S-series http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-S-series-Netbooks/BIOS-for-S10-reached-the-90th/td-p/125017 is not over.

 

Please HELP!

Is there any way to recover original BIOS on IdeaPad S10-3s with USB floppy, USB stick, etc. ... or not?!

 

If so, where can I get my original BIOS? And how to flash it into my S10-3s... now?

After trying to find an answer for days I finally posted mine off to be serviced by Lenovo. They were very helpful on the phone and after pointing them to this forum they said they would remove the download from the site asap- it may be a coincidental but the next day it was gone.

I was also told there was no way to recover the bios and that that function hadnt been added to the S10-3s. This I find to be almost unbelievable but it seems to be the case. I tried every known combination of keys known to man with no result.

They must be willing to take the chance and pay for all the repairs- strange economics

I myself am gonna get rid of the thing when it comes back and get a refurbished IBM tout de suite!  Smiley Happy

short Info:

i send my damaged "s10-3S" to Lenovo before 2 Weeks.

The actual Status:

 

"Spare-Part not available - ordered from Vendor ..."

 

So i think, in an S10-3S i'ts impossible to start an Bios Recovery Procedure

via "HotKeys" .

 

For Native German Speaker:

 

So, nun habe ich mein S10-3S zu Lenovo geschickt. Der aktuelle Lenovo Reparaturstatus
zeigt:

Benötigtes Ersatzteil nicht verfügbar, Ersatzteil beim Hersteller bestellt.

Sparepart ordered

 

Damit ist es wohl "Essig" mit einer Bios Recoveryprozedur via HotKeys ... leider ... außer

der Reparaturpartner in Deutschland hat die Info nicht ... !

i want to give out feedback of my Lenovo Ideapad Repair Status:

The Notebook is still into the Repair Center - the Status is the same !!!

Now i wait more than 4 !!! Weeks for fixing of the Ideapad - i think, it is not

acceptable to wait so long !

Beginning lasr week i send an fax to Repaircenter to get an final Date for

my Ideapad - i don't get an answer ! Has anybody in Germany the same Problems

with the Lenovo Repair Center in Heppenheim ?

Ich will mal hier eine Rückmeldung bzgl. meines durch das fehlerhafte BIOS

File von Lenovo geflashte Ideapad geben.

Seit Anfang Februar ist das Gerät im Lenovo RepairCenter in Heppenheim.

Im Webstatus hat sich nichts geändert. Ruft man die Hotline an, kommt man

irgendwo in Griechenland raus. Die Supporter dort können nicht auf die Systeme

in Heppenheim zugreifen d.h. Sie können nicht einsehen, wann Ersatzteile

eintreffen oder ähnliches - d.h. Sie sehen nur das, was ich auch bereits schon

via dem Webstatus sehe.

Daraufhin habe ich letzte Woche ein Fax an das Reparaturcenter in Heppenheim

gesendet mit einer Fristsetzung bis Ende letzter Woche, dass ich eine Info bzgl.

der Reparatur haben möchte (entweder via Fax oder Mail).

Keinerlei Infos habe ich bisher erhalten. Ich werde jetzt ein weiteres Fax aufsetzen

und eine Frist von 14 Tagen setzen. Sollte ich bis dahin kein Notebook zurück-

erhalten, werde ich den Fall meinem Anwalt übergeben.

Ich werde auf alle Fälle KEINEN Lenovo mehr kaufen - denn so einen Service kann

ich mir sparen !!! Und alles nur, weil Lenovo ein fehlerhaftes Firmwarefile zum Down-

load angeboten hat. Ich könnte echt koxxxx !!!

Wie sieht es bei anderen aus ? Habt Ihr Eure Ideapads wieder von Lenovo aus der

Reparatur bekommen ?

it can happen (which is obviously also your case) that we don't have spare part available in repair center and there is no estimated time of arrival from supplier for it - so Support can't inform you about the exact date when your computer will be repaired and delivered back to you, but support should at least inform you about the progress in your case.
