S10 Wireless connection issues

2009-04-18, 11:22 AM

Hi Guys

I bought a S10 when I was in New Zealand and have moved to England

They have a BT Wireless router of some kind which their laptops , Samsung R60 and dell something or other don't have any problem connecting to

My S10 will pick up the wireless network with a signal strength of 4 or 5 bar/36 or 54mb and I have the correct WPA key but it will not connect and I have a message coming up saying that there is limited or no network connectivity..

I am not really sure where to start , would the wireless setup in a asia/pac laptop be the same as a european model ?

If anyone has any insight or ideas that would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Nick

Its a general connection issue , It won't connect in either linux or windows

Would the wirless controller on the s10 be less powerfull than that of a normal form factor laptop ?

Cheers

Nick

I've just bought the S10e and have exactly the same problem and message on the wireless side, it connects and works fine when connected via LAN.

I read a piece on a sellers site by a buyer giving a review who talked about downloading the WAN driver from Broadband, but can't find it now.

I'm getting onto the supplier of my notepad  tomorrow and I'll post the outcome.

Regards

Hi,

welcome to the forum.

Hi, I would suggest verify the version of the wireless driver. Then, if it is same version as in support and download page, try uninstall the current driver and reinstall from http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_236.html

The driver on my S10e is the latest one shown on the Broadband website, but thanks for the suggestion.

I tried it out last night twice, once on an unsecured wireledd network at a coffee shop, and again on my daughter's secured network , that required a pssword - in both case the WAN worked perfectly, so it must my WAN that has the problem.

I'm having it looked at later this week.  In the meantime I will stay LAN.
