I upgraded to 8.1 and Pen and Touch or the touch screen is unresponsive I have tried draining battery and reboot for device detection. I have gone in to device manager and deleted HID compliant-touch screen driver and then all the HID drivers. If I go into control panel and open Pen and Touch to enable finger input option under "touch action" Equivalent Mouse action no "finger input option" is there to apply? Under system properties I can see Pen and Touch: Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points is there. I have gone to Lenovo's support and downloaded all the drivers and firmware and BIOS update as well.
I also tried to reistall to factory settings with one touch but it did not work in 8 either I have since upgraded again to 8.1 and done all the updates for windows 8.1.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Have the AC adapter unplugged
Remove the battery
Hold down the power button for 10sec.
Reconnect Battery and plug in the AC
Turn on the computer and check if the touch will no respond
Hope this helps

Hello when I go to enable the "Use your finger as Input" Device option in pen and touch through the control panel it is not there. So again when I go to enable the touch screen through control panel I do not have the option to enable because Use your finger as Input is not showing up. The touch screen worked before upgrading from windows 8.

After upgrading operating system first to 8.1 then to 10 have not been able to get touch screen to work even after resetting back to 8 can not get the touch screen to work. Just got done with Microsoft and they told me Lenovo needs to update the driver for Windows 10. I have looked all through Lenovo's forums far an answer I have tried the power drain, chkdsk /r , have updated all the drivers on Lenovo's driver support for the S415 touch, Bottom line if I look in Pen and Touch through control panel I do not have the finger option to enable the touch screen. And in looking through the forums it does not look as though anyone else found a soulution looks like they all just got frustrated and quick trying. Has anyone been able to get a touch screen to work in Windows 10 or 8.1 for that matter? For the Ideapad S415 touch?

Same problem here except it stopped working after one of windows updates and not after the first upgrade to 8.1 (was working in Windows 8.1 for many months. Stopped somewhere in Aug/Sep 2016)
Downloaded LCD firmware from Lenovo support site. Ran eGalaxUpdateAuto.exe and it worked for some days. Then stopped again in the next windows update. Ran the exe again and didnt fix the issue this time - saying 'Newest version firmware had already download!' There doesnt seem to be a straightforward way to uninstall the driver that was installed by the exe file.
Tried reinstalling HID-compliant touch screen from device manager, disabling/enabling it and it didnt work. I dont have a system restore point created prior to the date it stopped working.
Why doesn't Lenovo simply put their drivers (.inf files etc.) on their support website for S415 Touch laptop for Windows 8.1 in 64-bit mode. And all other drivers (and their various versions) for different hardware/OS versions similarly and we can then install them from device manager as needed. Why this whole mess with eGalaxUpdateAuto.exe
Anyways, please advise a solution. Touch screen has been inoperable for many weeks now.
