Sierra wireless drivers

I have physically installed the Sierra Wireless MC8775 card into my S10-3, but do not have the drivers. Can anyone steer me to the drivers and the Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher ?

Also, if anyone knows how to install bluetooth in the s10-3.

Re: Sierra wireless drivers

Hi and welcome,

a possible way to upgrade ...with 3G..

Lenovo Tech Support recommends these 3G modems for the S10-3 ...

1. Ericsson F3607gw:  0BDB_1905, 0BDB_1907

2. Huawei EM770/770U/770W:  12D1_1003, 12D1_1001, 12D1_1404

3. Qualcomm GOBI:  05C6_9204,  05C6_9205

4. Huawei EM660:   12D1_1001 12D1_1404

be sure have latest BIOS  installed...  BIOS 37 for S10-3

download  driver  .. remove battery remove powerplug open the bottom lid... locate the empty minipci-e slot.. insert card .. plug main and second antenna (labeled wire ends) borrow one screw from WLAN Card  to fix your card.. insert SIMCARD in SIM-Card-Reader ... close lid ...

plug in battery and powerplug... press start button in windows click on previously downloaded driver unzip and go in extracted folder click setup to install the driver... press Fn-F5 menu to switch 3G on ...

Use a mobile connect manager to connect...

when you try the above Sierra Wireless 8775  (But only User Tulisan confirmed that it works Here in this post )

drivers WWAN SierraWireless 8775 here....Connection with watcher use this  Sierra Watcher

Re: Sierra wireless drivers

voice-calling function
The voice function of the MC8775 can be enabled by a small tool (download EnableVoice.exe) turning it into a MC8775v. However in contrast to other 3G modems, the MC8775 won't hand over the voice communication digitally over USB, but it has an analogue audio interface using some of the MiniPCIe pins (it's unclear which pins are used for the analogue audio, see discussion at http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=63096)
So unless you are ready for some experimenting and soldering it won't make sense to enable the voice function. Note that the EnableVoice.exe didn't work for some users after upgrading to firmware 2.x. In that case first downgrade to a 1.x firmware version and then run EnableVoice.exe. It's unclear if EnableVoice.exe works properly under Windows Vista.

Re: Sierra wireless drivers

Hi,

I started this page back in 2010! Yes, my MC8775 3G has been working since then in my S10-3 Win7!

Anyways, the only drivers that work are the HP drivers for the MC8775, which I downloaded from the HP website. The MC8775 is also rebranded as the HP HS2300. I could not locate the download page now 4 years later, but that is the driver you need. Nothing from Lenovo worked.

Be sure to find a DRIVER download, not a firmware update.
