Sleep problems on IdeaPad S410

Hello,

I have an issue with my machine where if I put it to sleep by using the sleep option that comes up with the power option but whenever I try to put it to sleep by closing the lid or pressing the power button the computer will hang in the progress of sleep, the screen would go black but the light on the power button will still be on, the fan would be running etc.

does the physical ways to put the computer to sleep run different scripts or something?

other than that I see no reason for it to not sleep when I am able to put the device to sleep.

I am using a Ideapad s410 windows 8.1 64bit

Thank you

Re: Sleep problems.

hi hoonybro90,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

You can check this link on how to verify the Action it will do when the lid is close and make sure it is on Sleep

Re: Sleep problems.

Just a follow on to this...

The hardware switches, or software timers, or software actions should all trigger the same system events.

This is also affect by both Windows settings as Solid_Cruver is referencing, as well as settings in the  Lenovo Energy Manager settings.   These should get along, but I would recommend checking settings in both locations.

Also, over time we release updates to both BIOS and the Energy Manager software.   I would check to see if there are updates and install those.   It may be that the version you have has a glitch.

Best regards,

Mark
