Spilled water on keyboard, some keys dont work anymore. Help please.

I spilled about 1/4 a bottle of water on my U400 Idea pad and now the mute, lower volume, five, six, and control keys dont work.  Everything else is fine.  Is there any way to fix this? If not then where do I go to get it repaired or replace the keyboard keys?

Re: Spilled water on keyboard, some keys dont work anymore. Help please.

Get yourself a medium size cardboard box.

If there are any removable panels on the bottom of your laptop (like where a memory chip would go for example) take them off.

Open the lid, put the laptop in the box and seal it shut. Then set the box in the sun for a few hours. The box will act like a little oven, and the cardboard paper will absorb all the moisture.

I had the same thing happen to me, the water even got behind the screen. I did this and it took care of everything. Even the moisture behind the screen dried out. The laptop worked just like normal after that.

Good luck.

Dan
