Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
Well, I've been facing a new issue in my U530. The first problem was the keyboard (which I replaced), then the left hinge (I fixed it twice) and now a very irritating static noise.
I recorded that and uploaded on Google Drive to show you guys: https://goo.gl/XKXCgu
I'm not sure when it started. I don't know if it was after replace the keyboard, but after that I've opened the laptop a thousand times (because of the hinge problem).
The noise apparently comes from the left side, sometimes it stops for a few seconds (2 or 3) and then starts again. The same thing happens when I plug or unplug the charger.
When I plug the charger it seems that the noise gets louder, but not sure.
Do you guys know how to solve that?
Thanks!

Hi there, Gustavogerent -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.
Clean the motherboard and other inside components of dirt and dust. Dirt causes static and static damages the board. Also, changing the power plan might reduce the static noise.
Update us how it goes.

Hi Shashi,
I just did the procedure you mentioned but it didn't work.
I also tried many other things. I disconnected almost everything I could (speakers, usb ports, power plug, lcd, keyboard, touchpad, memory and SSD) to check if it was coming from other place not the motherboard, but sadly it comes from there. When I tried to start the laptop without the memory or SSD the noise was low but I guess it happened because the machine didn't boot properly.
I'm still not sure where it starts but I think it's coming from the capacitors (enesol vlps) because the noise apparently comes from the areas I marked in the picture.
Do you have any other idea what's happening?
Thank you for your help.
Gustavo

Hey guys,
Today I tried many other things.
I updated the BIOS (34ww to 62ww) and Lenovo Energy Manager to check if changing the mode to "stable" would change something, but the noise is the same in all profiles.

Hi you guys!
It's long time I started the topic but only to share that the noises is going little quiet.
Today I was going to test the internal SSD 16gb with HD Tune and I checked that noise comes from there, noises increased during test.
Maybe it's the disk controller.
Regards.
