For some reason the touchscreen stopped working. Tried to install updates, but it didn't resolve it. System says "no pen or touch input is available for this display"
Anyone can help me resolve this?

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with touch screen not working in your U330 laptop.
Please connect the external monitor and check for the issue, try to reinstall the drivers and check for the issue.
Also try to boot the system to safe mode and check for the issue.
