U260: Blue Screen Error 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Hi all. I use U260 for a couple months now. it is a great laptop for even greater price. The only problem is that it freezes a lot for my taste. Not regularry, sometimes it runs a week without problem, sometimes it freezes 5 times in 2 hours. The BSOD is still the same:

Blue Screen Error 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

I googled a lot and it seems it is a problem with processor / chipset. There is no newer firmware, i use preinstalled system Windows 7 x64, no special applications. It happens mostly when running on battery, only once it happened when plugged in AC. Any tips what I can do? Sending it to warranty is the last option as I am afraid is might be a design flaw...

Hi,

it may well be a hardware problem,

however i would check  first ,

what does Event Viewer show ?

this links may also provide solutions

Also what exactly were you doing just  before the BSOD'S occured?

Are there overheating issues?

Please give details.

Re: U260: Blue Screen Error 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Also have you tried Windows own troubleshooting tools?

Start>Control Panel>Under System and Security click Find and fix Problems

on the upper left hand side click on 'View All,

a list of troubleshooting tools will appear,

See if there is anything that may give you some ideas.

Re: U260: Blue Screen Error 0x124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Hi,

thanks for info. I work in IT so I hope I tried all common tests and checks. The U260 is definitely not overheated, it usually freezes in power safe mode while emailing or browsing the web. I tried all drivers for all devices presented in laptop but most of them are quite old (2010/2011) as it is not the latest laptop available. There are some options like "check for a solution" in Action log but it never found anything useful.

I got this on BSOD or in the logs.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffa800619a028, 0x00000000be000000, 0x0000000000800400).

Anyway, thanks again for tipsSmiley Happy
