My ideapad U31-70's keyboard stopped working recently and I'm trying to fix it. When I connect an external keyboard, the keys work fine which tells me that it is a hardware problem and not a software problem.
I wanted to know which keyboard to buy online, and how to replace it. I called Best Buy who told me to buy the keyboard before coming in to replace the broken one. I also can't find any videos or threads of replacing this keyboard online, can anyone help me?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
The keyboard is packaged with the entire upper case and not just the keyboard.
Using you serial number check on the upper case that goes with your machine here on the parts lookup page.
Use the upper case part number looking for other resellers and to compare price and costing with lenovo encompass. Here is the hardware manual for reference on the disassembly and Service training module for some video guide.
I hope this help answer your query.
